Some changes have been made to the FAQ brochure -- this most recent version below was posted May 17, 2011.  Please be sure to note that our building access at River Ridge will be limited to the library facility itself; other areas of the building, including restrooms, will not be available to visitors of the summer library program. Our apologies for this inconvenience, we hope the notice will help in planning library visits.

Summer Reading Incentives

Check out the cool summer reading freebies!

Scholastic Read for the World Record:  Students sign up under Bagdad Elementary, and log in their minutes daily or weekly.  The goal from 2009 was 35, 846,094 minutes.  Last year's World Record was 52,710,368 minutes!  Let's work together to beat it! 

Barnes & Noble:  Students get to pick a free book after reading 8 books!  Want more info? Click on the link!

Half Price Books:   Join Half Price books in the "Feed your Brain Summer Reading" program.  Students 14 and under set goals to read at least 15 minutes per day.  Have your parents sign your reading log at the end of each week. Turn your reading log in between July 25th and August 7th and get a $5.00 back to school coupon.  Students can also enter to win the Top Reader Prize for $20 gift card.  Want more info? Borders:  Students 12 and under read 10 books, fill out a reading log, and get a parent signature.  Bring your reading log to the store to get a free book.  Click on the link for more information!

HEBuddy:  HEBuddy is asking students to read 10 books & get parent initials.  Send your reading log in & wait for a surprise!  Want more info?  Click on the link & then locate "Clubs & Contests" on the website!

Leander Public Library:  Click the link to find out more information about the "Wish Upon A Star" Summer Reading Program filled with performers, movies, and dangerous clubs for girls and boys!

Cedar Park Public Library:  Kids, teens, and yes even adults can participate in the "Dig Up A Good Book!" Summer Reading Program.  For more information, click on the link!  

Round Rock Express:  "Hit a Home Run 4 Reading", sponsored by the Round Rock Express, A+ Federal Credit Union and the Austin American-Stateman.  Students log reading activities over the summer including newspaper articles, serial stories in the newspaper and books they choose and submit their reading logs for prizes, including four tickets to a Round Rock Express Baseball game!
