Every library has databases available to use with all students & staff.  Please contact the librarian on your campus to find out which resources best fit your needs.

All LISD libraries purchase subscriptions to Libguides.  It's the most widely-used platform for creating research guides and sharing knowledge & content.  Here are some examples of existing guides on some campuses:

Research can be a daunting & overwhelming task.  Doing research provides students with the opportunity to think critically by evaluating content, reliability & currency of information sources.  Librarians can provide assistance and support in the planning of research unit by doing the following:

  • partnering with you on the creation of your research assignment
  • assist in the gathering of the sources of information to best fit the needs of your research assignment
  • creating a libguide to gather your resources and share information with students
  • support students in their research assignments by teaching a variety of lessons on search strategies, website evaluation, and citation of sources
  • probide grading support for teachers by evaluating "Works Cited" page of research assignment

Don't let the "research animal" overwhelm you-partner with your campus librarians to lessen your load and maximize resource gathering & instruction for your students!

Noodletools is an LISD district subscription which provides a tech-integrated platform for the research process.
